Hello! I am new to modular eurorack so apologies if I am not articulating myself correctly.
I love the Eloquencer. It’s awesome. I am recently trying to combine gate output from the Eloquencer with Trigger output from the Mutable Instrument Grids module to drive my drums. I’ve tried using a Doepfer A-182-1 as well as a Make Noise Mult to combine inputs to no avail.
When I use another sequencer or gate source the two gate sources are able to combine as expected.
Is there something unique about the Gate source from the Eloquencer that precludes it from combining with other gate sources?
Unfortunately I do not own a device to analyse the voltage signals to discern what could be different.
Hope thus is clear.
Thanks!
Allan
I use OR combiners to merge gate tracks and I’ll check this out when I get back to my rig. Happy to help but it would help if you described the expected behavior and the actual behavior.
Simple example. You have Elo firing a straight 4/4 pattern on the downbeats, 1 and 3. Grids firing upbeats, 2 and 4. Are you not getting a 1/16 pattern from the sound source, let say a drum module?
Hi WinterModuler.
Thank you for taking the time to help with my issue.
Both the Doepfer Switched Multiple and Make Noise Mult are passive.
Hi DavidJames
Correct. I am not getting a 1/16 pattern on the drum module.
The observed behaviour of the Switched Multiple or Mult would be:-
Setting #1
Input #1 - Eloquencer ( 1 and 3 )
Input #2 - Mutable Grids ( 2 and 4 )
Output #3 -> ( 1 and 3 )
Setting #2
Input #1 - Mutable Grids ( 2 and 4 )
Input #2 - Eloquencer ( 1 and 3 )
Output #3 -> ( 2 and 4 )
Example that works:-
Input #1 - Hermod ( 1 and 3 )
Input #2 - Mutable Grids ( 2 and 4 )
Output #3 -> ( 1, 2, 3 and 4 )
Thanks!
Allan
